Fieldpiece filters and gaskets are designed to protect the leak detector sensor and ensure correct operation. When the filter swells and blocks water and other contaminants from reaching the sensor, it has done its job — it should then be replaced. Note: oil drawn into the filter can clog it almost immediately — replace the filter for optimum performance.
FILTER REPLACEMENT: The hydrophobic filter is built into the replaceable tip and should be changed periodically to maximise sensor life and performance. To replace it, unscrew the tip.
