Once the evaporator has been cleaned and treated and the condensate drained, residual moisture and musty odour often remain in the system. AC fragrances – aerosol sprays, fan-activated foams, scent capsules or ultrasonic atomiser bombs – coat the evaporator and air ducts with a fragrance to finish the job after disinfection. Some products combine scent with an antibacterial action, but most are fresheners applied to an already-clean system and do not replace a dedicated mould treatment.

A professional chooses by application method (pressure/fan-activated can vs nebuliser), scent longevity, yield per number of vehicles, and whether the product includes a biocidal agent or is a pure freshener. What matters is cabin-plastic and cabin/HEPA filter compatibility, no residue on glass, and a range of scent variants to match customer preference. Workshops favour bulk formats and mixed-scent assortments.
