A damp evaporator is the ideal environment for mould and bacteria, which cause a musty smell from the supply air and degrade air quality. Disinfectants are applied to the cleaned coil and into the condensate tray; they act as biocides, breaking down biofilm. Disinfection is carried out only after the system has been washed first — disinfection alone does not replace mechanical cleaning.
Choose the product to suit the application method (spray, foam, nebulisation) and the requirements of the site (e.g. approvals for use in public buildings). After disinfection it is worth applying a finishing fragrance for the air conditioning.
